Roxana is an ARC Laureate and PhD student at the Planetary Health Equity Hothouse within the School of Regulation and Global Governance (RegNet). Her research examines the impact of digitalization on curbing greenwashing in the Australian and European food sectors. Roxana is a communication specialist with experience in academia, the private sector, and international organizations. Since 2020, she has been working on issues related to circular economy and resource efficiency in industry within the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO). Here, her focus has been related to environment-related action and the demonstration and promotion of green growth opportunities for small and medium-sized enterprises. Her research will build on this experience, and further explore the social determinants of food equity in specific sectors from Australia and the European Union. By taking an interdisciplinary approach, her research will investigate the effectiveness of current digital tools in reducing greenwashing in foods, as well as their overarching contribution to food equity, climate change, and the regulation and governance of health. Roxana holds a dual bachelor’s degree in International Relations and Politics & Public Administration, and a dual master’s degree in Advanced International Studies.
