Dr Daiana Seabra Venancio

Daiana joined RegNet as a Research Officer to work on the regulatory developments of seabed mining in the Pacific Region with Professor Nick Bainton. During her PhD at UNSW Canberra, she wrote the PhD thesis, ‘Regulating the Environmental Impact of Autonomous and Remotely Operating Underwater Vehicles in the Area.’ She has extensive research experience in Law of the Sea subjects, including seabed mining and maritime security.

Daiana holds a Master's of Laws (Research) and a Bachelor's of Laws (Honours) from the Rio de Janeiro State University (UERJ), Brazil. Alongside her research experience, Daiana was a tutor at UNSW Canberra and a Law Lecturer in International and Environmental Law at a private Law School in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (Uni São José).
