This presentation is Rose's mid-term doctoral candidature review.
Regulatory policy and practice are harmonised in many Australian regulatory domains. This presentation updates on research into the many modes of harmonisation, ranging from uniform legislation to looser arrangements between regulators in different jurisdictions. Drawing on the experience of regulators in harmonised schemes, initial findings show a range of co-ordination and consistency challenges. Ongoing research continues to investigate the relative importance of institutional arrangements as against relationship building in achieving effective regulatory outcomes.
