This first session will introduce the aim of the series and open the floor for you to tell us what you would like to hear and discuss in the following sessions.

This presentation is a closed event for RegNet staff, visitors and students only.

The RegNet AI Series will provide colleagues with the opportunity to engage in critical reflection of AI use with the aim of producing an information-rich environment so that we can make informed decisions about using AI in our academic practice. The series aims to create opportunities to have deep conversations about AI use, but will not include lessons on how to use AI.

In this introductory session,  Giorgia Dalla Libera Marchiori and Amy Carrad will introduce the RegNet AI Series and facilitate a space to discuss: Are you using AI?; How are you using it (and how are you not)?; How much and what do you know about AI?; What questions and concerns do you have about AI? We will use the answers to these questions to guide the topics for future seminars in the series.

Image description: A red-toned illustration shows a man's head surrounded by swirling AI icons, with small, mischievous witch-like figures flying around him. The man's expression appears disoriented and fatigued, symbolizing the mental overload caused by the overwhelming flood of AI tools and news. The witches represent the chaotic, cackling nature of rapid AI developments, adding to the sense of dizziness and confusion.
