RegNet scholar awarded Endeavour Research Fellowship

Congratulations to Shane Chalmers, a PhD scholar in RegNet’s Centre for International Governance and Justice. Shane has been awarded an Endeavour Research Fellowship to undertake research in early 2016 at the International Institute for the Sociology of Law in Spain on his post-doctoral research project ‘Rule of Law in Transition’.

Shane’s project will examine how “the rule of law” takes form as an empirical matter in four areas of importance in the modern world: political transition, irregular migration, environmental change, and capital flows/trade. The Endeavour Research Fellowship will support Shane as he builds on his PhD doctoral research on Libya’s transition to democracy, collecting emprirical data for the first stage of his research project on Spain’s own experience of the transition to democracy.

The Endeavour Research Fellowship provides financial support for international postgraduate students and postdoctoral fellows to undertake short-term research (4-6 months), and for Australian postgraduate students and postdoctoral fellows to undertake short-term research (4-6 months) in any field, overseas.
