RegNet researcher Megan Davis first Australian Indigenous woman elected to a UN body

Following elections at the Economic and Social Council and the appointment by the President of ECOSOC, CIGJ PhD student Megan Davis has been selected as a member of the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues for the term 2011-2013, starting 1 January 2011.

Megan was also recently praised by Minister Jenny Macklin for her role in drafting the Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples.
