Congratulations to Philippines project advisory board member Professor Mina Roces for her election to the Australian Academy of the Humanities as a fellow in November 2016. The Academy recognises Professor Roces as a “preeminent historian of the Philippines”, for her “major contribution to furthering intellectual engagement between gender perspectives and other approaches to Asian Studies.” Read more at the Australian Academy of the Humanities website.
Professor Roces also received a 2017-2019 Australian Research Council Discovery Grant for her project “A History of Women as Consumers, 1902-2013”. Professor Roces is a Professor of History in the School of Humanities and Languages at the University of New South Wales and is an advisory board member of the Philippines project.
