RegNet’s Miranda Forsyth took part in the Attorney General’s 2016 Pacific legal policy champions program last week. The program builds legal policy development capability in the region.

Joining legal officers from the Federated States of Micronesia, Fiji, Kiribati, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tuvalu and Vanuatu, Miranda participated in subject-matter sessions as an expert and in practical workshops in policy development and implementation in the region. Topics of focus in the 2016 program included sexual and gender-based violence, cybercrime, police professional standards, illegal fishing and maritime pollution, and transnational organised crime.

After returning to their home nations around the Pacific, participants deliver the Attorney General’s Pacific Legal Policy Development Course at their home institutions.
