Dr Virginia Marshall appointed to the Advisory Board of Australia’s Economic Accelerator

Virginia Marshall

RegNet Research Fellow Dr Virginia Marshall has been appointed to the Advisory Board of Australia’s Economic Accelerator by the Federal Minister of Education, the Hon. Jason Clare MP where she joins a group of six interim members, selected for their record as outstanding researchers, entrepreneurs and industry leaders with commercialisation expertise.

The Australian Government is investing $1.6 billion to accelerate reform in the higher education sector for the translation and commercialisation of university research through a new stage-gated funding program, Australia’s Economic Accelerator (AEA).

The AEA Advisory Board will play a pivotal role in advising the Minister for Education on research translation, make recommendations on large grants for proof-of scale proposals, facilitate the implementation of AEA, and guide collaborative opportunities for research development and innovation across the university and industry sectors. The program will develop a pipeline from discovery through to commercialisation, ensuring Australia reaps the benefits of investment in research within the university sector.
