The World Health Organisation says the true global death toll for COVID-19 is 15 million people. Despite the Coronavirus’ dominance over the past two years, there has been little mention of the pandemic during the election campaign.

‘The Virus’ host Jeremy Fernandez speaks to RegNet’s Sharon Friel on the importance of COVID mitigation in the upcoming federal election and how much of a factor the pandemic has been in cost-of-living pressures.

“Whilst Covid has really put an awful lot of pressure on particularly socially disadvantaged groups, I think what it’s telling is the absolute need for a policy response that addresses some of these underlying issues of income insecurity, job insecurity and housing affordability.”
