Congratulations to CIGJ PhD student Cheryl White, who has recently submitted her thesis on transitional justice in Cambodia.

Cheryl’s thesis is titled ‘From Expressivism to Communication in Transitional Justice: A Study of the Trial Procedure of the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia,’ and studies the development of transitional justice with a particular focus on the trial procedure at the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia.

Her work advocates transitional trials which maximise the communicative capacities of the Court by conducting proceedings which are more dialogical, and representative of all the communities affected by the crimes in question.
