Tzu-Yun Shih

Tzu Yun (Samantha) Shih is a PhD candidate at the ANU School of Culture, History & Language within the College of Asia and the Pacific. Her research investigates the parenting contexts and childhood experiences of children born to Indonesian and Filipino migrant workers in Taiwan. Tzu-Yun holds a Master’s degree in Asian and Pacific Studies from the Australian National University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences from Waseda University in Tokyo. Her previous research examined Indonesian migrant workers in Taiwan, with a particular focus on their relationships with left-behind children and family members. She has also worked in out-of-home care services and has experience in child-centred research design.
