Research Interest
Mengjie’s PhD research program delves into China's approach to economic sanctions, examining how its historical experiences as a member of the Global South and its emerging status as an economic power influence its perceptions and utilization of such measures. From a legal perspective, she investigates the interplay between domestic law and international law to understand China's participation in the international legal order. Mengjie’s research interest lies at the intersection of law, economics, security, and social issues, focusing on how these interconnected concerns influence actors’ responses to and adaptation with the complex environment of global governance.
