Mengjie’s PhD research program delves into China's approach to economic sanctions, examining how its historical experiences as a member of the Global South and its emerging status as an economic power influence its perceptions and utilization of such measures. From a legal perspective, she investigates the interplay between domestic law and international law to understand China's participation in the international legal order.
