Marlouize Ermita Villanueva
Atty. Marlouize E. Villanueva is a Professor of Law at the University of San Carlos – College of Law in Cebu, Philippines. He lectures on Philosophy of Law, Legal Research and Writing, Thesis Writing, Administrative Law, Law on Public Officers, and Election Law.
He served as a law clerk at the Court of Appeals – Visayas Station. Prior to this, he joined as an associate of a law firm while consulting for the Office of the Building Official of the City of Cebu. He has also held the position of General Affairs and Special Projects Manager at a leading player in the construction aggregates and pre-cast supply industry in the Philippines.
While pursuing his Juris Doctor degree, Atty. Villanueva served in Cebu's provincial and city governments. He was a legislative staff at the Provincial Board of Cebu and subsequently served as the executive assistant at the Office of the City Vice Mayor. In 2020, he was appointed Secretary to the Mayor by Mayor Edgardo C. Labella.
Atty. Villanueva is admitted to the Philippine Bar and is an active member of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Philippine Red Cross – Cebu Chapter, chairing the International Humanitarian Law Committee and Youth Committee.
Currently, Atty. Villanueva is a partner at Cortez Villanueva San Pedro Law Offices, a full-service firm based in Metro Manila, Philippines.
