Isabelle Zhu-Maguire

Isabelle is a PhD Candidate at the Australian National University’s School of Regulation and Global Governance (RegNet). She is researching the geopolitical causes and implications of climate security agendas in the Pacific region.

Isabelle previously worked at the Monash Sustainable Development Institute and the UN's Sustainable Development Solutions Network where she worked on initiatives to engage and empower Pacific young people – particularly in the field of climate action. She has also conducted extensive research into the experiences of women in Afghanistan and their perspectives and realities living through conflict, oppression and climate change.

Isabelle has also been an advocate for the inclusion in climate negotiations having attended multiple United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change’s Conference of Parties and participating in the researcher’s contingency of the UNFCCC (RINGO). She holds a Master of International Relations from Monash University.
