Lachlan has a broad-ranging background in venture capital, engineering, law, entrepreneurship, renewable energy, finance and government policy.
Most recently, Lachlan has been working with ITP Renewables (in Canberra) as Executive Director of Frontier Fund Management, developing a new blended-finance fund for renewable energy projects in frontier economies, seeking to displace expensive and emissions-intensive diesel generation with renewables.
From 2000-2008, Lachlan was Investment Manager with Sydney-based venture firm Innovation Capital.
Lachlan led the ACT Government’s Renewable Energy Industry Development Strategy as part of the Territory’s “100% renewables by 2020” which attracted over $500 million in local/ACT industry-related investment.
He has been a commercial adviser and mentor to a broad range of companies including, energy-related ventures, Okra Solar (Cambodia) and Reposit Power.
He is a Visiting Fellow, RegNet, ANU, and also sits on the Commonwealth Government’s, R&D Incentives Committee.
Lachlan has qualifications in engineering, law, business and finance from Cambridge University, Melbourne University, the Australian National University, and Harvard Business School.
