Hridesh Gajurel is a political economist who is currently a senior researcher and was previously a lecturer in the School of Political Science and International Studies at the University of Queensland (UQ). He holds a PhD in political economy from UQ. His research examines distributional outcomes at the level of the firm through a comparative approach and investigates how such outcomes are shaped by interactions between markets, institutions, culture, and power relations. He specialises in institutional theory (new institutionalism), comparative capitalism, financialisation, and corporate short-termism. Besides this research, he is currently involved in an ARC Discovery project on institutional memory in the public service – a mixed-method comparative study of institutional memory and its effects on public policy.
