Tony’s research examines health equity from social and political perspectives.
He explores how approaches to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander engagement and participation in policy formulation can be used to counter social constructions and drive policy innovation. This critical interpretative study investigates the different perspectives that influenced the formulation and implementation of the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Plan 2013-2023.
Tony is a Central Arrernte man and draws on his experience in Australian Indigenous health policy and international development practice for his research.
