Christa Shen is a Research Assistant on Lee White’s project, “Maximizing consumer ability to manage electricity demand.”
She is currently undertaking a Master of Economics at ANU and holds a Bachelor’s in Environmental Biology from Columbia University in the City of New York. Her current research interests are in exploring the design and use of market-based incentives as a solution to environmental issues.
Her past work includes research on leaf senescence in temperate ecosystems, photosynthetic efficiency in the Arctic tundra, and the ecological importance of birds in tropical island ecosystems. While working as an environmental consultant, Christa decided to pivot into the field of economics in order to target inefficiencies in environmental policy.
