Ryan Wong_RegNet

Ryan Wong has undertaken various planning roles within regional governance alliances and the federal government in Australia. He was primarily involved in research and evaluation projects that facilitated integration across portfolios and sectors.

His master’s thesis described the processes, tools and frameworks for integrating planning functions in 12 regional health economies. He has experience in interviewing high-level executives and technocrats, analysing strategy documents, and conducting surveys.

Ryan is using a multi-method approach in his PhD project that aims to identify the conditions for policy integration in the area of sustainable development. It compares the ‘integration regimes’ in Germany, Finland, Czech Republic, UK and Australia, tracing the rise and fall of institutions for integration as they weather changes of government.

Ryan was recently granted the Adam Smith Fellowship at the Mercatus Center of George Mason University. He is also a reviewer for the International Journal of the Commons.
