Research Fellow Benjamin Herscovitch shared his thoughts in Development Intelligence Lab on whether ‘Fortress Australia’is inherently insecure.
Ben said strengthening military capability is well underway but defence is only one part of security, each decision has trade-offs.
“So far, Australia’s sharpening defence posture under the Morrison and Albanese governments has produced a mixed bag of outcomes and the net effect on Australian security remains uncertain.”
