Fighting Climate Change the Australian Way?

2nd June 2021

Institut Montaigne talks to Emma Aisbett, Fellow at the School of Regulation and Global Governance (RegNet) and Associate Director, Research for ANU Grand Challenge – Zero-Carbon Energy for the Asia Pacific on Australia’s climate policies.

Three questions to Emma Aisbett:

  1. Prime Minister Scott Morrison has been criticised for his climate policy approach. What is his government’s method to tackle climate change and meet environmental targets?

  2. Climate change is now top-priority on the international agenda. What is the geopolitical position of Australia on environmental concerns, not just regarding Western countries but also in comparison with ASEAN members?

  3. At a time when we discuss the acceptability of climate action, does Australia’s climate policy have a divisive effect on the country’s society?
