Sorcery Accusations & Related Violence in PNG Conference - the Harm and the Healing

16th June 2021

Associate Professor Miranda Forsyth will be convening the PNG conference on Sorcery Accusations & Related Violence (SARV) hosted by The National Research Institute Papua New Guinea.

The aim of this Conference is to take stock of what changes have occurred in addressing SARV since the last conference on this topic in 2013. What have been the accomplishments and limitations of the National Action Plan? What have we learned from the activism and research done in PNG in recent times? What can PNG learn from initiatives overseas? What new insights reveal a path for the future? The panellists will be exploring human rights issues, and social, legal and practical plans for the future in this two-day online conference.
