Speaker

Derek Futaiasi

This seminar was originally scheduled for 19 April and has been rescheduled. We apologise for any inconvenience.

Derek Futaiasi’s PhD study seeks to explore whether expanding the study of governance of Constituency Development Funds (CDFs) in Solomon Islands beyond a focus on state regulation to collective governance will be able to provide fresh insights into ways CDFs are regulated, which may suggest new ways of addressing the problems that are widely perceived to plague their administration and distribution.

This seminar is Derek’s final presentation of his doctoral candidature.

About the Speaker

Prior to joining ANU as a PhD candidate, Derek Futaiasi worked as a public servant at the Office of the Prime Minister and Cabinet in Solomon Islands. Derek was also the focal point for the United Nations Convention Against Corruption (UNCAC) and represented Solomon Islands in various international meetings pertaining to the UNCAC. Derek holds a LLB, Professional Diploma in Legal Practice and LLM from The University of the South Pacific.

This event will be delivered online via Zoom only.
