Speaker

Fran Baum

Civil society plays a vital role in bringing about progressive public health change. The extent to which it can be effective as a change agent depends on the relationships between civil society and the state. In this presentation Professor Baum will use insights from an action research project of the ways in which members of the global People’s Health Movement define the theories of change behind their movement. She will also examine the extent to which PHM members are able to exert their agencies and the structural power constraints on them doing so.
