Australia’s national risk assessment: perspectives and recommendations from risk and resilience experts

The ANU Centre of International Governance and Justice, in conjunction with the Commission for the Human Future, hosted a roundtable on “Complexity and Resilience” in May 2023. The roundtable included participants from around the ANU, including Risk, Vulnerability and Resilience Cluster from the ANU Institute for Climate, Energy and Disaster Solutions.

Participants discussed the Australian Government’s decision to investigate a national risk assessment process. From the discussions of the roundtable, a report was developed which includes recommendations for the Australian Government on managing national risk and ensuring an effective national risk assessment.
