Helene is visiting from the Department of Social Services, where she is Content Development and Survey Design Lead at the National Centre for Longitudinal Data.
Helene was involved in the content development and survey design of the Longitudinal Study of Australian Children (LSAC), a major study following 10,000 children and families from all parts of Australia.
She completed a PhD in social psychology at the ANU under the supervision of Prof. Valerie Braithwaite investigating safe spaces in the workplace bullying context.
Her book, based on her PhD thesis, “The Shame Code”, was selected as a “Highly Commendable Book for the Year 2010” in the social science section by the Korean Department of Culture and Tourism.
While her interest in school and workplace bullying continues, she is also interested in aging and spirituality as well as child’s social and emotional development.
