David Carter is a Senior Lecturer in Law in the Faculty of Law at the University of Technology Sydney and an NHMRC Early Career Fellow (2019-) in the Centre for Health Economics Research and Evaluation. He works on legal and regulatory challenges in the governance and delivery of safe, effective and sustainable healthcare services.
His work focuses on health law, public health law and criminal law, applying theoretical and empirical methods in aid of advancing legal and regulatory strategies for reducing the burden of healthcare-related harm and death. His NHMRC fellowship project looks to develop more robust regulatory approaches to manage antimicrobial resistance in the primary care setting.
While at the ANU he will be working with Valerie Braithwaite.
