Dr Nara Ganbat is an alumnus of RegNet and currently a social justice consultant based in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. She works with international development agencies, and international and domestic NGOs.

Before commencing a PhD study, Nara has worked in human rights policy and research holding senior positions with the National Human Rights Commission of Mongolia. Nara’s PhD thesis titled ‘Transcending Human Rights Instrumentalism’ explored the ways that the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities interact with domestic laws, society and politics.

• Legal protection of human rights
• Symbolic functions of a law
