Howard Bamsey was, until recently, Deputy Secretary of Australia’s Department of Climate Change and Energy Efficiency, and Australia’s Special Envoy on Climate Change. He is one of Australia’s most experienced negotiators, playing a key role in international climate change negotiations. Professor Bamsey was Deputy Secretary in the Department of the Environment and Water Resources from 1997 to 2002, and head of the Australian Greenhouse Office until 2006. He is currently Honorary Professor in the RegNet School of Regulation and Global Governance, College of Asia and the Pacific at the Australian National University.
