Between 1998 and 2004, Gary lectured and researched in Intellectual Property Law.

He also undertook related consultancy and training for a variety of private and public sector clients across the EU.

In 2004, Gary emigrated to Australia to take up a position at UNSW.

In 2007, he left academia and, in 2008, co-founded a software start-up specialising in real-time business analytics and related solutions.

From 2010 onwards, Gary acted as an IP and licensing consultant for a number of Australian and overseas organisations, including several law firms and trade mark attorney firms.
