Abidah Setyowati is a human-environment geographer with PhD from Rutgers University – the State University of New Jersey. Her research focuses broadly on natural resources and climate governance, critical climate change studies, energy governance and access, indigenous politics, forest tenure reform as well gender and social inclusion in these issues.
Prior to joining ANU RegNet, she was a postdoc fellow at Department of International Relations, ANU and a research associate at Environmental Change Institute, University of Oxford. She has also provided advisory works and carried out assignment with UNDP, UNEP, FAO, UNREDD, USAID, DFID and other multilateral agencies. In RegNet, she joins a research project with Professor Neil Gunningham on “Harnessing Financial Markets and Institutional Investment to Increase the Take-Up of Renewable Energy in the Asia-Pacific”.
