As part of the 2019 Conversations series, Narration and Renarration as Regulation, we will be taking a deep dive into Mai Sato’s research on the death penalty and its narratives in Japan in a live podcast recording of the Wholesome Show.

The Wholesome Show, hosted by Dr Will Grant and Dr Rod Lamberts, and sponsored by the Australian National Centre for the Public Awareness of Science, is a podcast that explores a topic of research each episode and asks the questions you wish you could when you are in the classroom.

Dr Mai Sato introduced her documentary on public and political narratives around the death penalty in Japan during the Conversations session on narration and re-narration through multiple genres and creative media. This podcast will further explore her research on the Japanese public’s stance on the death penalty in Japan, and what is holding the Japanese government back from abolition.
